I've had my 1994 artist award in the case a few years. I decided to get it out yesterday. The piece of the tailpiece that attaches to the guitar failed where it hinges. The harp is still good. Ill get pics later. Any source on just that lower piece. 20211025_143739.jpg20211025_143730.jpg20211025_143716.jpg

Hm, if you can find such an animal these days, a luggage repair shop might be able to repair the hinge, probably similar problems have affected luggage.

Billydlight found a guy who welded his Guildsby. Not sure if it is possible on that design however.

Well almost a year to the day,I've decided to do something about this. For better or worse. I acquired an 1/8 inch thick piece of brass. I have it roughed out in the photos. I have lots of filing sanding and buffing to do. The piece that broke is just a shade over 1/16 thick. I believe this 1/8 will never break like the other one did. Driving the dowel out of the harp was painless. It's an interference fit but not overly tight.

The brass is 3/32 of an inch one the old tailpiece. Knowing what I do now, I would have suggested having a shop braze it back together, but what you are planning sounds good. I'll be doing the same thing for a temp tailpiece on the project CE-100.

I'll still have the old piece if need be. I didn't know it but one of the guys that supplies parts, not Hans, said those breaking is common.

You might have the original one brazed, leaving excess material on the outside part not the pin side. Smoothed and polished. But it looks like you are well on the way to fixing it! Are these brass... or? Strange they break....
Save the original pieces.

You ought to be able to take that to any machine shop and have it brazed.

Billy D. Light had a Guildsby fail at the hinge and he was able to get the aluminum welded local to him.

There she is 1992 AA with more case time than play time. I started this post saying this Isa 1994. That's wrong it's a 1992.

According to Hans Moust this guitar was built in 1990. I will change everything to reflect this.
