Hey, I'm looking for a case that'll fit a Guild JS-2. Hard case preferably but if anyone has a good soft case option with reasonable protection that'd be welcome.

Any Ideas much appreciated!

hi an Epiphone EB/SG bass hard case will fit it. however, many, most, or possibly ALL Gibson EB/SG bass cases, will not fit it.

I have a rectangle epiphone/TKL case that fits it, from prob the 80s or 90s, that is clean, solid/heavy duty and made in Canada, if you're interested. it also fits many other basses, P-bass, mustang etc.

I have the same TKL case, great case, but something I found disturbing was how much the bass can slide up and down (because the JS2 is short scale), the headstock could ram in to the case at the end however it survived a trip here like that. JS2's are pretty tough, good wood. Now that I know that, I keep some padding like an old T shirt between the headstock and the end of the case so it doesn't move back and forth inside while walking around with it or in the car.

There's a JS2 case on eBay at times, maybe now even, green interior. I haven't vetted it as being the right case but I think seller claims it is.

I'll see if I can find it.

I use both. Decent gig bag for quick trips, Gator hard case if it will be loaded in with other gear.

One thing came to mind about the Gator case. I recall that it was airline approved if you'd care to stow your bass in the cargo bay. Recessed latches and all. You can stand on the sides.

On the negative side, a couple of times I noticed that if it was out in the cold, like 10 or 15 degrees, the case wd warp a little.

For a soft case, I use a Reunion Blues for non-Starfire basses (Starfires are too wide). It’s a nice sturdy, well made “soft case”.
