Trying to get a handle on the "news" lately reminds me of the Firesign Theater album "Everything You Know Is Wrong."

Firesign Theater?? Wow, that's a blast from the past!! What was that routine they did, "Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand me the Pliers!" I seemed to think they were funny back then. I wonder what I'd think now?

I never really got Firesign Theater but I confess that I can take or leave most Monty Python as well so there is definitely a blind spot in what I consider funny.

Hello All, been a while. Still a member but I try not to visit FB anymore. After the pandemic began I stopped watching the news because it was all a political blame game. Took solace in my youtube subscriptions because they focused on what I am interested in (guitars/music, cooking, gardening, photography), but last week one of my subscriptions decided to opine. In one of the few times I ever commented on youtube, I let him know that I do not subscribe to his channel for his political opinion.

I'm the same with Monty Python as well. Most of the time, I'd as soon not waste my time. Odd, huh??

I love Monty Python, but I have found some sketches that I found uproariously funny as a kid just don't do it for me as an adult.

Like GAD, I mainly stick to hobby-related FB pages and when I post on my on page it's usually about food, hobbies or pets because they are inoffensive 99% of the time. For example, below was my post for today and so far no one has complained. :)

Do you have a cat problem? Are cats running around your house and causing mayhem? If so, the Cat-in-the-Box® cat trap is for you! Disguised as an ordinary avocado box, the Cat-in-the-Box® cat trap is lined with crinkly plastic bags that cats find positively irresistible. Simply place the trap in the area of the home where cat activity has been observed. Once an unsuspecting cat climbs in the Cat-in-the-Box® it will quickly fall into a semi-comatose state. The Cat-in-the-Box® cat trap has convenient carrying handles that allow for easy transport to another room or even to the exterior of the home. No fuss, no mess!

The Cat-in-the-Box® cat trap is reusable and comes with replaceable crinkly plastic bags. And now available in two new styles: Sweet Kale Salad box and Certified Organic Fuji Apple box. The Cat-in-the-Box® cat trap is sold through all major interwebs on-line retailers. So stop fooling around with old-fashioned sticky traps and get your Cat-in-the-Box® cat trap today!

I have boxes all over the house. Never thought about putting bags in though. So it's not a counterfeit of the trademark for sure.

Congratulations Woody!

I had a facebook (lower case on purpose, they don't deserve upper case) account that I set up many many years ago but when they wouldn't let me sign on until I gave them my cell phone number I was done with them. I think they changed that not long after, but when I'm done, I'm done.

As for news, I have not watched TV in nearly 20 years and have not missed it one bit. I also immediately close the welcome screen when I sign on to the internet so I don't even see the headlines. I'm done with all that, too. Uninformed? Naive? Probably. But definitely less stressed and happier.

By the way, beautiful kitties, guys. I think our highest cat count here on the farm was around 12 or 13. And when we had bad weather coming I would go out and get every one of them into the house. We're down to 2 now. When I get to Heaven I expect to be accosted by an army of cats, a herd of horses, and a pack of dogs that all got there ahead of me. Should be fun!

About the beginning of the month I realized that Facebook had become a time sink and a source of stress. The later is my own fault because I keep thinking I can fix stupid.

Frono, I've been told that duct tape can fix just about anything. Except stupid, it can't fix stupid. But it can muffle the sound.

And to think that only couple decades ago we had a book delivered free to every household. It had names, adresses, phone numbers. All set up nicely, so you could see which ones fit together.

It was called telephone directory 😂
