This one I didn't know of...What makes them different from S-100s (aside from control knobs' number) ?

It's similar except, as you noted, only master tone, master volume and no phase switch. It has the full pickguard with the pickups mounted to it rather than using pickup rings (bezels). Also the early ones (like this one) used the old S-50 "flip cover" tailpiece while later ones used the same Mueller bridge and stop tail as on the S-100.

Also, dot neck, no binding and more basic tuning machines. Basically, an economy version, but with the savings made in all the right places and maintaining the quality! :cool:
