Yesterday I dropped my guild off at the summerside long and McQuade location . I’m not sure when it will be finished being worked on because They have to ship it off to the other location for the work .
I’m actually really excited I wanted to get this done for a year now and it’s finally happening. I have a really weird fret that buzzes on a single string I figured it had to be an high fret . I really wish you could have saw the look on the young fella’s face when he opened the case to get the serial number of the guitar. It was priceless even the other fella I know quite well was drooling over the guild .

I do think it will be a long wait for it to come back but I guess it will be worth it , I’ll let you guys know how it turns out when it gets back

I got a weird fret buzz all the way down the fretboard of one of my acoustics, under the D/G strings, to the point of being unplayable. I had put lighter "slightly light" JP strings on it. Turned out some maniac had really really tightened the TR, so I got that loose, and then just a little snug.

But more than likely it was also a moisture thing, the sponge in the case had dried out. Shrinking woods lower action, swollen woods raise action.

I was talking to the tech Andrew and my guitar made it down safely. He said there really isn’t much wrong with it besides a few high frets . I explained I was fairly disappointed over that and he was honest with his response and it actually made a lot of sense. He said “ Jared think about it your guitar done a lot of travelling and been exposed to multiple climates. It flown from Korea to Toronto then from Toronto to pei “ he explained a lot of times different climate changes will do that .

On one of my "newer" Martin guitars, the high string will buzz on the 14th-16th fret when the humidity gets above 55 %. What's going on there?

Sounds like an easy fix and hopefully a quick return! Makes a big difference when a guitar is set up right and plays easy with no buzz!

I am not sure . Btw love your name ! My dad’s name is ralph. That fool decided to take three children in from the foster system. Some glad he did because I don’t know where I’d be if he didn’t

Yes and hopefully the string don’t take forever to come in. I requested flat wound chromes

Very common for guitars to need adjustments to relief, saddle height, etc. between winter/low humidity and summer/ high humidity seasons.

Honestly when it came I was just happy it was in one piece . I knew the little things where fixable the aftermarket pickups where super expensive but were worth it . I gave the old pickups to a friend . Even if something happens and I don’t have the cash my folks will help me out. The joys of working casual and paying off debt 😂. At least there’s loads of food in the cupboard and the four wheeler is paid off .

The guild Is finally Finished but the price I could have bought a new guitar for the price .Actually I’m really impressed with the price $108 for setup and frets , I honestly thought it would be a lot more . So I’ll be heading down next Friday to get the guitar back
