One thing you can try is to got a power screwdriver with a tuner head and just crank the tuner for a minute or two. You can get them to wear in a bit, and I've had some success with that in making the tuners smoother.

IN OTHER NEWS THOUGH......!!!!
He told me there were six of these available for Europe, and he wasn't 100% clear on them himself. His best guess was that they were part of a test or prototype run, OR they might be something Guild would have introduced had there been a Summer NAMM this year.

A new T500? Available FROM WHOM? :)

If you're willing to toss the coin at it, I'd assume Waverlys are a direct fit.
You can download all the specs. Gotoh also make open backs with oval holes for a bit of wiggle room.

Schaller Grand Tune are another superior open back. Personally I love the look of open tuners and small buttons

In looking at the cut out area of the braces I wouldn't expect cutous to have much impact on the reinforcing of the top soundboard. The cutouts are occuring near the end of the braces where other wood structures will have a tendency to beef up the top. From my basic mechanical engineering courses the strength of a brace is proportional to its width but proprotional to the square of its thickness. So just like a 2x4 can easily bend when laid on its side it is very difficult to bend when laying on its edge. So reduction of the brace near the edge shouldn't matter much. Now it will be interesting to see how the X350 braces have been modified or positioned.

No kidding. WANT!!!

I imagine it wouldn’t be too tough a DYI project with an NS X-175B and some T-Armonds.

I was thinking the same though the outlay on the pickups is about the same as the difference in price

IN OTHER NEWS THOUGH......!!!!

A buddy of mine who works at the major musical instrument retailer chain over here just posted this on his facebook page today, and it freaked me out enough that I called our Guild rep for an explanation. He told me there were six of these available for Europe, and he wasn't 100% clear on them himself. His best guess was that they were part of a test or prototype run, OR they might be something Guild would have introduced had there been a Summer NAMM this year.

Tadaaa!!

Just to follow up on them, here is one of the six available in Germany. It might be the same GAD posted on 8/7 (as it showed a musicstore receipt in the case).

Once again, GAD, great review! You are not helping my GAS though! I have owned several hollow bodies through the years including a beautiful 1967 Fender Coronado, but I end up never playing them🤷‍♂️. For the present time I seem to be able to resist, but soon I will give another hollow body a chance.

I like the blue color, but this review and the comments worried me about the satin finish being too delicate. The blonde version seems harder to ruin, and no less beautiful.

Thanks, I just ordered this! Been waiting, and Thomann says coming in 10-12 weeks.

Hey GAD - did you take measurements on the string height above the pole pieces on these X175s? Would be interested to know. I'm assuming around 1/8th - Thanks!
