Does Guild player Mike Mitchell remind you of Herman Munster?

The most iconic moment in Rock?

"Louie Louie" is the world's most recorded rock song,[41][42] with published estimates ranging from over 1,600[7] to more than 2,000[43] "with ever more still being released and performed".[44] It has been released or performed by a wide range of artists from reggae to hard rock, from jazz to psychedelic, from hip hop to easy listening. Peter Doggett labeled it "almost impossible to play badly"[45] and Greil Marcus proclaimed, "Has there ever been a bad version of 'Louie Louie'?"[46] Paul Revere summarized, "Three chords and the most mundane beat possible. Any idiot could learn it, and they all did."[47]"

Yes, you cannot play "Louie Louie" authentically without a vintage Starfire III and Sunn amp. :geek:
I'm not sure they had Sunn amps untill after they 'made it.' Norm Sundholm, the bass player, along with his brother Conrad, started Sunn after they couldn't get enough loud, clean power for the larger venues they were playing.

And that guitar solo sounds way too tweezy to be played through a Sunn.

Mike Mitchell, different Starfire with single coils, now wondering what's on the recording, it's pretty twangy in the solo.

Most recorded rock song - wow.
I hope that Richard Berry (and his heirs) reaped some of the rewards from those recordings.

Frank Zappa loved Louie Louie so much that he had a hand signal to his band that would introduce the chord sequence into any song they might be playing at the time.

Example ~ 0:22

also a unexpected turn to a minor key for a bar or two ~ 0:09 foreshadowing the following song - Godfather II theme.
