I don't have any first hand experience but I would be willing to make a 99.999% guarantee that it is. Reason being that they obviously wanted to make a Guild Starfire at the lowest price point possible. There's a reason why almost all of the cheapest budget instruments out there have Precision-style pickups -- because they are the most widely produced, cost-effective, decent (at worst) sounding pickup, that also cancels out hum. Another indicator is the standard Fender-spec string spacing. The only difference here is the addition of the chrome surrounds, which I imagine are just separate pieces over a normal generic P pickup. I wouldn't hesitate to snag one of these basses if it popped up used, locally for $400 or under, specifically for the purpose of fitting it with a Bartolini p-style pickup.

Hi there, I recently replaced the P pickup in my SF-1 with an Alembic P style pickup and electronics.
The pickup fit inside the surround without any problems. The electronics took some wiggling according
to my luthier. The bass sounds and plays great. Sounds like "P bass on steroids". I hope this helps.
FITZ.

I'm tempted to put some cream pickup covers on my walnut Starfire 1. Does anyone know if standard sized Fender P Bass covers fit?
