Guild Starfire 1 new finishes?

Hello all. I've joined as I've recently become a fully fledged Starfire Bass fanboy and this seems like a great place to learn and discuss. I have both a cherry and walnut Starfire 1 bass, and have just seen the picture of the blue one on show at NAMM. Does anyone know if Guild plan to release more colours? Ideally a blonde or sunburst.......

Welcome. You occupy a relatively unpopulated niche. You have what we would describe as the Newark Street Starfire 1 (with different pickup and bridge/tail piece that we don't really have names for yet). That's the second generation (or third according to some who can document changes between FMIC's and CMG's ownership) of the single pickup Starfire bass. Not many folks I can recall have played one and I suspect you may be answering more questions than getting answers

Guild remains unpredictable concerning colors and offering the same colors in basses and guitars. The only sunburst I can recall (since 2013 or thereabouts) was the limited edition Chris Hillman Signature Model. I can imagine they have some algorithm that looks at finishes and sales and is used to decide what they offer on a bass. The cherry is iconic and I have to believe that if they only offered one finish, it would be cherry but beyond that I have nothing be guesses and speculation

I've been told that the blue one seen in NAMM photos is part of a limited run of 100. Apparently you can put in a request for one with Sweetwater. Not sure about other vendors though.
