I wasn't able to post to the Buy and sale location. But I am in search of a Guild R30-s I'm not really concerns with what type of finish or any thing aesthetic. I don't have much desire for the square neck.

If you have any information on the location of one, or if you have one you would like to sell yourself please feel free to email me whenever is convenient.

Thank you much!,

Moved it for you. Because FS and WTB are not separate the software enforces the same rules but they really shouldn't apply to WTB. Good luck. There are some out there but patience and/or the willingness to pay a premium over fair market value might be needed to get one :)

Thank you sir, oh okay that make sense now, I appreciate your help sir. I expect it to be a bit higher than what it probably should be, being a 2012. It is also like you said, very hard to find them. Square necks you find from time to time, but I don't like playing it like a lap steel.

So far as I’m aware. Not many were made but I’m only basing that on how few I’ve ever seen for sale. Maybe the people who have them just love them so much.

Note that there are at least two variations: R30 and R30S where the S means solid wood construction, so are you only interested in an S?

Where are you located? Local sales can be a good driver.

no as the original post I'm not picky on the finish, I just care about it being a rounded neck. Even if it needs work I would be more than happy to fix it.

S is not “finish” but a fundamental difference in the wood used to make the guitar’s body. On an S30 the body is made from laminate. On an S30S the guitar is made from solid wood.

I’m not sure that it matters much in a resonator, but if that’s a distinction that doesn’t matter to you then it opens up possibilities a bit.

The real difference is between the systems used in the models. The R 30 uses a biscuit resonator system like single cone National guitars.
The square neck models use the spider system like Dobro guitars. The biscuit type single resonator cones are louder with less sustain than the spider
type guitars. Biscuit system guitars are more often used for blues playing where of course spider guitars are more often heard in bluegrass.

Learning from what Spoox knows about them it sounds like the R30 would be more towards what I like to play. I’ve been playing slide on my D25 I enjoy playing Mississippi’s delta style blues.

On an S30 the body is made from laminate. On an S30S the guitar is made from solid wood.

2014 price list and catalog: (the change to the S-series happened sometime during 2013 already)

So you won't see the difference of the all solid wood "S"-series unless you check the label inside through the f-hole.

Some more info:

I always wanted to see the innards of an R-30, as the copy states it has a soundwell and baffle like the spider version guitars. Biscuit resonators as a rule would not have a soundwell as the resonator faces down with the bridge on the apex of the cone. The soundwell supports the rim of the spider cone as it faces up. The baffle "reflecting plate" on my R-35S does seem to affect the sound a bit and similar things can be found on a number of modern spider guitars but I've yet to hear of something like that on a National style guitar. I suspect that whoever wrote the copy for the catalog used the same description
for all the model resonators, but if Gary can peek through the f holes on his R-30 and see a similar curved baffle and 6 point open soundwell that is in his R-35S I'd be most grateful!

The ad copy is wrong, at least in respects to my R30. I have a feeling it was copy/pasted from the other models.
