I’ve had Rares on my JF 30 and they make the bass deeper and richer, really like them. Anyone with a JF 30 who tried the 80/20 or the sunbeams?

Some folk I know from an other Forum, thinks that DR now belongs to Martin who bought it back a rather long time ago...Don't know if that is right.

Well, six hours of playing my F-30RCE over the past week with DR Rares and I am impressed! I'm using the 11 - 50 set. The slightly lower tension and the feel of the strings gives me a bit more "playability", almost (but not really) a sort of "electric" feel.

Plenty of volume and a "bright but not too bright" sound, which is what I like.

I am going to see how they hold up, but right now, I'm thinking I may make them my new "go to" string.

I used either DR Rares (Guild DCE1, Guild F44) or DR Sunbeams on all my guitars (on my two shortscale Godin made guitars). They are definitely my brand of choice.

That said, D'Addario PB strings are great strings and with respect to consistency and quality control, are as good as any brand out there.

And I stand by the argument that nearly all acoustic guitars sound better with .12s than they do with .11s.
