I too was kind of getting at possibility it was an arched back. That model’s rep for articulation plus the projection of the arched back could be a tasty little recipe for goodness.

a GF-25 would be the very close equivalent to a long scale F-30, or maybe F-47, with an arched back

Yeah those 70s-80s F30s are sort of their own thing. Slightly wider than you'd expect for an OM/000. But deep like a dread or a jumbo. It some ways it's more comfortable than a true mini-jumbo.

Re: the F44 - I've had it for 20+ years. I found it for $500 on consignment at a local shop. I didn't know the model yet, so I called Fender, and then called George Gruhn himself.

George: How much are they asking for it?
Me: 500 bucks.
George: I'd give you $1000 for it right now.

And so back to the store I went.

Thanks for the comments Chris!
You have an F44 too? Great guitars!
Reading your post, got curious and decided to compare lower bout widths and depths.
This F30 has 15 1/4"W lower bout vs 16" on my F44, and
measured at the bottom of the body, the F30 is 5"deep vs +/- 4 5/8" depth on the F44.
To me, this particular F30 feels bigger than my F44, pictured below.

What year is this? Just a great guitar! Doesn't get better than that!

Well, in the spirit of the season I will match his offer as he apparently never followed through. We're here to help!!

You're welcome.:sneaky:

GAWD that back is just amazing....I have three lovely sounding maple guitars but they don't look anything like some of the maple I've seen on these forums!

Your pictures are still the best i have found on the internet, concerning guild guitar pictures.

Thanks, Blake - I just try to tell as much as pics can allow me to tell,
considering the modest equipment, resources and knowledge I have - got a long way to go until
I'll get to being reasonably satisfied with any of my own photos, there's always so much
that can be endlessly improved upon!

You're no slouch in the pics dept either - you got you're
own style and it rocks!
