1973, Westerly RI-made Guild F212-XL w/Fishman Electronics

In very good condition with the original case.
Vintage guitar: all solid wood.

It sounds wonderful!

  • The guitar has low action and plays at standard pitch without any issues.
  • The neck is straight.
  • The guitar is a jumbo 12 string and it is loud, like a cannon.
  • Fishman electronics were professionally installed and the guitar sounds terrific when unplugged or when plugged in.
  • Grover tuners were professionally installed.
  • Side dots at the 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, and 15th frets
  • Nice figured, natural "Bearclaw" in the spruce top under the bridge

The top, which is made of solid spruce has a nice bear claw, as seen in the first picture.
The back and sides are made of solid mahogany.
Rosewood fingerboard
The top (including the pickguard) was professionally refinished.

The guitar has no functional defects (there is some glare in the photos)

According to the chart on the Guild support website (dating your Guild), it is from 1973.

Shipping to CONUS only. All sales are final.
I will refund the difference if the actual shipping is less than my quoted amount.

Price: $1,499 + Shipping to CONUS only. All sales are final.

The Westerly F212XL is one of Guild's best 12-strings IMO. Even though it wasn't considered their top-of-line jumbo 12, my F212XL has every bit as much authority as any F412 ad F512 I've ever played.

This apparently has upgraded tuners and the saddle has been repositioned to correct the intonation -- both pluses in my book.

Thanks for noticing. It also has Fishman electronics for use in the very rare case where the guitar isn't sufficiently loud.

It hasn't yet been a week it's listed, so still fairly new. One thing I have noticed that when people list here and on eBay/Reverb at the same time, people know you're serious and that MANY more people suddenly have access to the sale, and they tend to act more quickly. Since it's only listed here, maybe they don't feel the pressure of having it listed on the big sites. Just my opinion. Good luck!! Beautiful guitar!! (y)(y)

It's still for sale! Any suggestions for improvement to my listing?

It's a great guitar. I just have other guitars and never get to this one anymore.

Flip the truss rod cover. It is upside down.

Looks like a fine example. But for many, cutting a hole in the side to install a barn door pickup system is a minus, especially on a 50 year-old guitar.

Lowering the price is the most obvious way to garner more interest.

Good luck!

I have no problem with those side pickup control panels (I just remove them and voila! -- sound port!) but many do. It's completely aesthetic, but a deal breaker for some.
