I HAVE ONE NOT ON THE LIST. ITS A D-4E WITH A FACTORY INSTALLED ACTIVE UNDERSADDLE TRANSDUCER. I WAS TOLD THEY DIDNT MAKE ALOT OF THEM. MINE IS A 1992 MODEL.
Hi NEALLA,
Thanks for your comment. I didn't include all of the electric "variants" of the different dread models, of which there were many. I only included those electro-acoustic models that were exclusively available with electronics, such as the DCE series and (as far as I could tell) the D-5E. DLG

This pic shows it was factory
HI NEALLA, Welcome! Your label is correct, but what Gardman was trying to say is that technically it's just a D4 with a factory transducer installed. That would be an "option" as opposed to a unique model, although it should be ID'd as you say.

There was a slightly different series with a cutaway and pickup as standard elements of the model, so he did list those. Technically I think every dreadnought model (like yours) barring maybe some custom shop builds had an "e" option available at some point or another since '67.

Without reviewing the factory price lists, my memory says that starting with the D40 in '67, there was soon a factory pick up option available, by order at the very least, for virtually any dreadnought.

So he did't list those as separate models, that's all.
;)
