Is the "added touch" truss rod cover inlaid with New Zealand abalone around each screw? That is all I think I see on Richard's and one in specs, above
Think that's just a slight impression left from when they tapped the TRC. Maybe something used to help prevent cracking/splintering when drilling. The NZ abalone is in the chesterfield. ;)

Thanks Al and I, too, liked the Chesterfield inlays. But strained my eyes to find any abalone in TRC. Guess all manufacturer's info is not correct.

That's the person who ordered her from the custom shop. So it was made for him. Maybe a detail was different from the normal one.

When I owned Richard's Finesse (boy, what a great guitar!) I did research the name "Peter List" and came up with what I think was the guy who ordered the guitar.

A little more on my Deco. Note I was careful on the spelling this time so I don't get another demerit/black mark from the Walrun man. My self esteem is already at a low point and Walrus just about put me over the edge. (just kidding Jeff)

I'm attaching a couple more photos on the inlays. Likely still not great but then again I'm not a great picture taker so there!! If I ever decide to sell it I'll do a better job. I really love this guitar and don't see it going anywhere soon.

The Finesse that was discussed a bit above is also a superb guitar, I love it as well. I did verify with Hans that the Finesse is a 1999 build.

Tom's work looks amazing. This guitar is like a fine piece of art. I would have to double check the records, but i think only about 10 deco's were built, so this is super duper rare!!! Well Done Sir Richard

No problem with pictures of inlays and I really like them. In my opinion, one of your best scores during Covid--or at least best one shared on LTG. Ha

I hate you* for making me want another guitar that I didn't even know existed.

Agreed (on all counts). Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.

No worriew GAD. Hating me seems to come natural to many. It's just part of my DNA now.

I didn't know that the Deco and Finesse were based on the DV-52. Hard to go wrong there, right?! Again, sweet axe, and nice restoration and Mr. Jacobs has once again gone above and beyond!

Would Tom Jacobs have been at Westerly when these models were made?

Rich, you are one of the most considerate guys on the planet. I can't imagine someone hating you. Anyone who "hates" you is simply a hateful person, as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately, there's too much hate goin' around these days. I began writing a song while living as a Peace Corps volunteer in an Indian village back in 1970. Since playing at open mics here in Charlottesville, I've extended the song. Each time there's a mass shooting, I add another verse to the song. It's called "Loop of Hate." Unfortunately, the song has grown and grown.

You should talk! I read a GADS ramblings the other day about the S300s. I am now listing after one. A S300AD was also my first good guitar, and first Guild, back in about 1976. I have owned a few since. But now I've decided I need another.
Nothing but trouble that GAD guy!

Hello W.W.,

If I remember correctly Tom Jacobs worked at the Westerly plant towards the end of the '70s. The guitars that are the subject of this thread were produced by the Nashville Custom Shop during the end of the '90s.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Right. However, Tom J. is a miracle worker in my book on any Guild.
