Guild D40 Protoype #2, completed in the Guild Custom Shop,
Nashville TN, in 2003.
Finished in clear gloss lacquer
by its previous owner and Guild Custom Shop
Master Finisher Jon Kornau.
Very good-to-excellent cosmetic condition.
Some minor finish checking, strum marks on pick guard.
No cracks, breaks, damage or repairs, no bridge lift.
Good volume, rich and resonant tone with bright mid-range.
Neck angle on this instrument is sub-optimal;
a 24" straight-edge lands +/- 3/64" (.046") below the top of the bridge.
Action is medium-high, low E at 12th fret is +/- .105".
Saddle is low.
Nut width 1.73"
Scale length 25.625"
This guitar has a slightly wider waist,
larger upper bout radius, and slightly smaller sound hole
than typical early 2000's-era D40s.
Guild hard-shell case has some wear, with KORNAU
written in red marker on the lower left side.
