1999 Guild D4 M, satin finish, mahogany top and sides, arched mahogany back.
The all-hog version of the D4 is somewhat less common than the spruce-top version.
Good used condition, no cracks or breaks, various minor dings, dents, scratches and scuffs,
area of slight discoloration on lower left bout, strum marks on pickguard and body,
light-to-moderate fret wear, good action, neck reset 2020.
With non-original hard-shell case.
PM for pics
$650 + UPS / Fedex ground shipping to lower 48, whichever is cheaper.

Tom, it's satin finish - guessing the "M" on the label refers to the hog top.
Someone mislabled it as "HG" (High Gloss?) despite the satin finish.
We all know some interesting things can show up on Guild labels :LOL:
Thanks, it's a handsome, sweet sounding and nice playing guitar, noticeably lighter
than most if not all of the all-hog archback Guild dreads I've owned.

Here's a label from another all-hog D4 I owned for awhile, which, as Guild label deciphering goes, seems to make
more sense to me:

That's my guess as well on the 2nd label -
NT = Natural Top
HR = Hand Rubbed
M = Mahogany

Edited 1st post to avoid any further confusion about the finish.

i dont think the label says high gloss. a mahogany top D-4 is pretty uncommon. someone simply wrote "MHG" as a short hand for "mahogany," is my guess. just "M" would typicaly mean maple, or else mahogany stained, but anything is really possible. a high gloss mahogony top D-4 might read "D-4 MHG HG" or i suppose possibly "D-4 M HG" (with a space after the M). during the same 90s era there are starfire basses with less common mahogany tops, and those say "mahogany" or "mhg" or "mhgy" i think, most of the time (not "m" that i recall).

edit, now i see the "M" in the second photo, at the end of the designation...which to me makes no sense along with "NT," (should not be NT if mahogany top) in any event does not change my initial thought that "MHG" simply means mahogany.

anyway GLWTS!!!

I can see how that could get super confusing. Someone used MHG for mahogany instead of just M. Guild labeling at its finest!! Thanks for the clarification. Good luck with the sale. Great price on that one!! (y)
