For those of you who are fans of Doyle Dykes, and even for those of you who are not, his book "The Lights of Marfa" has just been released. Amazon has them.
It's not really a biography, nor is it exactly about playing guitar. It is his collection of amazing life stores, many of which he tells at his concerts. These amazing stories have inspired several of his songs, and involve other guitar greats such as Chet Atkins, Eric Johnson, Merle Travis and other musicians such as Elvis and The Beatles.
You also get a DVD which tells about the song inspirations and shows him playing the songs.
I highly recommend the book.
