Hi, I've just bought a B301 bass but need to get hold of the original style knobs. It is a 1977 model but it seems there are variations out there that look the same but I'm not sure they will fit my bass. Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome. No clue. A quick image search suggests the same vintage knobs as used on Starfires and JS basses but I can't confirm that. I do know that current knobs on Newark Street instruments don't fit vintage shafts. Vintage knobs can get pricey.

This is related to my earlier post asking about B301 knobs. I am now wondering if the knobs I have in my b301 are the original. There are a few out there that don’t have the Guild logo on them. Can anyone confirm this?

If your knobs look like these, then they are original to the instrument:

That's them! I thought they all came with the Guild logo on them? Is it rare to have the ones with no logo?

Since I confused the issue there are a lot of B301 images that do seem to have the black knob with numbered skirt and Guild logo. But I could not find a 77 so... As always, I defer to Hans :)

Aren't they older than the 0-10 knobs? Did the S300 come with 1-9 knobs?
I stated (correctly or not), "older he "10" knobs.

No, I don't believe an S-300 came with "9" knobs. Now for sure I would think they're older then the "speed" dimpled knobs.

I’m a bit confused now. Are the knobs I posted on my bass original to a 1978 b301? I have seen some b302s with the same ones on now so I suspect they are.
