Hi,

A few weeks back I bought a very beautiful X-161 FMSB from 1989. As you can read in this thread https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/guild-x-161-fm6hsb.208250/
I am very happy with it and love the sounds I can get from the guitar. The guitar has a harp tailpiece and I am considering replacing that with a Guildsby/Bigsby in the future. Does anyone know if the current Guildsby that can be bought at the shop at Guild.com will fit on my guitar?

Thanks!

Rene

I don't know specifically. But I have a general sense from reading stories of others that a) Guild is not to be trusted when they say Newark Street parts will fit vintage instruments and b) they often don't fit sometimes because of a switch from English to metric specs on screws and shafts. Hopefully someone who tried and failed or succeeded will comment.

Also the new Guildsby is licensed and inferior to the old “real” ones. They function fine, but they don’t feel the same.

Check with Hans. See if he has one, or if he can find you one
