Over the weekend I was playing a T-500 through a 98RT amp. The pair made for a very good combination. The 98RT's tone is a little on the dark side, much like Ampeg amps from the same era. Since they were aimed at jazz players (thanks Al Dronge and Everitt Hull), this isn't really a surprise. A bright sounding guitar like the T-500 counteracts a lot of the darkness and the result is quite nice. Here's a quick sound bite of this dynamic duo: Guild 98RT amp and Guild GSR T-500.
