Any info on these vs. dovetail neck joins? I know that the Jubilee's and the 55's don't use this system. I wonder how it impacts the sound. I'm looking at an F-40 specifically. Thanks

FYI...The F-40 has a dovetail neck joint. The CV's are an F-40 shape with the graphite block system.

The idea here with the graphite is that it is such a good sound conductor, that it dumps energy from the neck back into the top of the guitar. It's been my experience with the contemporary series, so far, that they project extremely well with minimal effort. Also, bolt on necks make for cleaner and easier neck resets down the road.

I would absolutely agree with BJ - the sustain and projection, and clarity on my CV-1 is exceptional. The brand new Contemporary models such as the CD-1 dread, CO-2, etc. also now feature a new Sound-Directing Graphite Spider Support System. Obviously more new advanced technology but as long as it sounds great, I 'm all for it.

I am anxiously awaiting delivery in a week or two of my new CD-1 dread I've had on order and will give a first-hand report. :)

Point of clarity, all contemporaries have the graphite 'spider' as well.

Those CD's are sweet, sweet stuff, as well.
