Hello all,
New member here. Just thought I'd introduce myself. As of a few days ago I am the proud owner of a Bluesbird, and I am loving it! I've been playing for 20+ yrs, I'm typically a solidbody type of guy, and I wanted to shake things up a bit with a 'different' guitar. And this Bluesbird has delivered in spades! Not only is it gorgeous, but the tone is incredible.

I remember playing Bluesbirds at a music store many years ago, and I was very impressed, but they were too pricey for me at the time, and I wasn't sure about the (relatively) thick neck. Then they stopped being made. Last year I started keeping an eye on the used market, waiting patiently, and sure enough eventually one popped up that screamed my name.

Here are some pics of my new baby...

I look forward to chatting with you folks. Have a great day!

Hello gravydb,

Welcome! Looks like a nice early Corona AAA Bluesbird you got there!

Enjoy it!

Sincerely,

Welcome Gravy. :D
That is a beautiful Bluesbird.
They are great guitars.
I play mine every week in church. They are very versatile.

I've moded mine by replacing the pickups with four-wire versions, and adding a push-pull pot so I can change it to single coils when desired.

Yes Hans, according to some help I received at the FDP, it is a 2002/2003 Corona-made model (S/N is CM000448). And I agree, it is a looker!!!! I would have been ok with a little wear and tear, but this guitar is in excellent condition. I feel very fortunate to own it.

Thanks Hans and CJD for your welcoming responses.

Welcome gravydb!!!
Your pics make me envious..... If it wasn't for the upcoming home purchase (hopefully because I need my music room  ) I would already have jumped on the one somebody here by the name of Dave is selling (at least was, not sure where it's at now).
I love the strat, but I gotta to get me the humbucker sound. Big time!
Enjoy it!

Thanks everyone. I am enjoying this guitar more and more, each time time I pick it up! I really am at loss for words, that's how much I love it!!!

Beings that I bought it used, I'd like to make sure that it is setup properly (not so much the personal preference stuff, but basic things like pickup height, string-angle over the bridge, etc). Is there a basic setup guide available anywhere? I've Googled with no luck.

Bluespicky: I'll keep my eyes open for ya. Good luck with the new digs!

Welcome and that is really beautiful!!! Photos like this have me GASing for a Guild electric. I'm way partial to the flame maple since your front looks like my back.
