Hello, all. It's nice to have so much help from so many knowledgeable folks.
As promised, the D-30 is pictured below:
Full frontal Guildity
Why can't everyone just stamp the date on there? Still a bit of cleaning to do.
I've altered the serial number in this image, but it's consistent with date indicated.
And some maple goodness, to finish it out.
It plays great, and sounds like a Guild.

Great looking guitar. I am inspired to get some pictures up this weekend. FYI - original Gold Grovers on my Guild.

I'm sticking with the chrome, for now. I spent a bit more than I had expected to on some new frets, etc.
So I think I'm just going to play and enjoy it as is. Which ain't bad .

Chrome over gold for me. While we're on a tuner conversation. Have Guild always had an affiliation with Grover? I had thought about fitting some Gotoh 510's to my DV6 but the Grovers on there work fine and if I'm honest just look 'right' on a Guild headstock.

Chrome always w/o hesitation. Gold ones look cheap and tacky to me. Chrome is pure class, pure cool, and pure rock and roll. I replaced the tuners on my JF65-12 with chrome ones, and it looks way better. As Wilco penned ... "hell is chrome".
