Love everything about my new OM120 EXCEPT the gloss finish on the neck. Would love to hear if there is any way to take the almost tacky feel off without ruining the look. Old novice, heard the gloss was a possible issue, but never thought it would be a thing for me. This is probably the most expensive (by my standards) guitar I'll ever own. Thanks for any feedback

Welcome aboard.

Your OM-120 has a polyurethane finish. Sounds like maybe it wasn't cured all that well as it shouldn't be tacky. It might feel better if you polish it, but that won't last.

Not sure what to suggest for you in order to keep the gloss, if that's what you want. Otherwise, I'd suggest sanding it down/off until you're comfortable with it and then maybe coating it with varnish or lacquer. If you know any woodworkers, you might try consulting with them and/or asking them to help.

Good luck.

Get the finest Scotchbrite pad at the Home Depot, or equivalent. It should be grey. Rub that on the back of the neck, and that should make the neck feel more natural. My DeArmond had a similar drag issue, and that helped a lot.

Note that sanding the neck will significantly effect resale value if you care about that.
