Does she know how much that J-45 means to you?
Seems you have already answered the question that, most likely, will make this a great marriage --- if she says, "yes"?
You love the guitar but you love her more than you hate selling the guitar.
By the way, I payed $78 for my wife's engagement ring in 1968 - brother-in-law managed the PX at Ft. Campbell, KY. Haved asked her twice about upgrading and she's said "no" both times -- 53 years of memories.
