Bought my first Gibson and two features I have stayed away from in the Guild brand were present:
1. Hole in side for electronics (Gibson Accu Voice)
2. Cutaway
Neither have offended me as much as my mind had. And the Accu Voice may be a hidden gem. My guess is you either think so or think outdated and inferior.
All and all, I am pleased.
Sitka top and mahogany back and sides.

I owned a non-cutaway ‘95 J-100 Xtra, and thought the mahogany body sounded wonderful, as I’m sure yours does as well. It ended up being replaced by my current 2000 version of the same model with a maple body, who’s neck profile happens to work a little better for me.

They are nice guitars for sure - Congrats & Enjoy!
