I swear I’ve been laughing at this for ten minutes. Sometimes the oddest things just work.

That could be Florida especially lately
I've been working in N Ft Meyers for the last 3 1/2 weeks and been in shorts, sandals, and t shirt the entire time. There were a few days in the mid/high 70's, but for the most part, since early March it's been in the low 90's....and today in the high 90's. If this is the norm, I can see snowbirds coming later and leaving earlier each year. Today feels like a day in July in Maryland....a time when I just want to go to Maine!! Ugh. No thanks!! I like my 4 seasons! It seems there's only 2 here. Hot, and hotter!

I'm STILL waiting on 8 custom order interior door that were "supposed" to be here by the 21st of March. So....I've been keeping myself busy w/ other things that need to be done. (Electrical hookup and setup of a 4 person saltwater hot tub, and swopping out every switch and outlet (and covers) in the house...plus getting a head start on painting. All the baseboard is done except the pieces that butt up to the door jams, but they are all precut and waiting on doors... whenever they get here. My boss doesn't want to have to send me all the way back down here just to hang 8 doors (barely a full day's work) And you can't find anyone down here who's not going to tell you you will be put on their list and it might be 6-10 months. There are still parking lots full of RV's where people are living while they slowly work on their inhabitable homes. This whole area got messed up pretty bad! Every 5th house still has plastic tarps on the roofs waiting on roofing. It's a mess.

Actually the snow birds have been coming earlier each year and leaving later. I was in Fort Myers area from July of 1988 (originally from Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland) until this past October of 2022(now in St Petersburg) and that was the general observation; coming earlier & leaving later

Is that pork roll or Taylor ham? (...as he runs and ducks for cover!)

Actually, that entire debacle is clearly explained in Cecily Wong's Gastro Obscura, a source I never would have known had we not been listening to the CBC on Maine Public Radio the other night (the author was interviewed). Curious enough to get her book, which was actually at our public library. Go to page 331 (sorry, your controversy only gets a half page) 😄
