Condition (Mint/Excellent/Good/Fair/Poor): V. Good. Some finish damage on headstock from previous owners hangers.
Favorite Strings (one selection only): John Pearse Phosphor Bronze "Bluegrass" gauge
Would you buy another if lost/sold: Yes.
Overall Assessment: 8.1

Most Appreciated Characteristic: Great note separation and clarity... a nice smooth tone for acoustic ballads. Her neck is second only to my D-55s for ease of play.
Least Appreciated: Not much headroom for heavy strumming.

Favorite G-37 Story/Moment: I was eBay bidding on the '74 D-25 and G-37 (maple arched back dread) at the same time, and "won" both. Told the wife I'd A/B them, keep the one I liked best, and sell off the other. They sounded so different from each other and my old D-35, I had to keep them both, and started out on a quest to try all the different tonewoods Guild made in the dreadnaught style.

Would you buy another if lost/sold: Definitely

Overall Assessment: Excellent after owning almost 40 years ... speaks for itself

Most Appreciated Characteristic: Brightness without harshness

Least Appreciated: n/a

Favorite G-37 Story/Moment: At age 22, just becoming respectable on clunky Harmony Sovereign, I stuck the index
finger of my fretting hand into a printing press, lost finger back to first joint ... became
so discouraged I never wanted to see another guitar, was sure playing was over for me.
Yet when the state gave me $450.00 for donating my finger to industry, I went to E.U.
Wurlitzer with my heavily-bandaged stub and bought a new G-37. It was a year before
I did anything but look at it, but when I did finally try something, it sounded so beautiful
I just had to try and learn again. Still trying ...

Other observations/comments: If the guitar I have is representative of this model, I think it is one of the most under-
rated acoustics out there.
