This 1981 Guild G 312 NT (serial Number DJ 100184) belongs to a friend. It's been sitting in it's case for several decades. I'll try and describe what I see are some issues.
1. The neck should probably be re-set. It plays well and the action is ok but as you can see in the pics, a straight edge, laid along the fretboard hits the bridge slightly below the edge. The break angle over the saddle is obviously very shallow, but the guitar sounds very good.
2. You can see a feeler gauge just slightly slides under the back edge of the bridge, treble side. Other than that corner, the bridge is tight.
3. Some one replaced the original tuners with Gold Grovers. They all work fine, but whoever did it did not try and fill and/or hide the existing screw holes.
4. Some finish cracking on the soundboard and the usual small nick and dings for a 40 plus year old guitar.
My friend knows the guitar needs some attention and is realistic about the value. My very wild guess is w/o the issues noted above the guitar is worth $2,000 plus or minus. In my neck of the woods the repairs are probably going to come in around $1,200. I think a selling price of $500 is reasonable. If I'm way off the mark, please let me know. I'll pay for the shipping in the Continental US.
