I'm a newb here but I'm enjoying reading about everyone's Guild's. And reading about them has triggered some memories floating around in my empty head so even though nobody asked me to, I am gong to share one of them with the forum.
I bought my maple bodied G37 new back in 1980 out in Costa Mesa, California. I lived about 3 houses from the Pacific on 24th Street, Newport Beach. So I'm sitting there at the end of the road, on a bench, on the boardwalk, well sidewalk really though it runs along the beach there... you get the picture - and I'm playing my shiny new Guild. So anyway this guy out walking his dogs comes up and starts talking to me. He asks me about the guitar, general chat type stuff. Then he mentions that he lives nearby and has the exact same guitar. I look at him and I know what he's thinking. I say, " You think I stole your guitar." He nods yes. "Hell," I say, " I probably would've thought the same thing."
So I swear that she's all mine and we get to talking and I walked back to his house with him and the dogs and we jammed, became friends, jammed a whole lot more over a period of several years. Unfortunately I moved on from SoCal about 26 years ago and have not kept in touch.
