The Michigan Air National Guard did a flyover today in support of our medical workers, they flew over our Veterans Home and then over the downtown hospital complex.

A-10 Warthogs.

Pretty. The Indian Air Force did the same thing last week, flying over hospitals and other city areas. Air Force helicopters dropped rose petals on doctors and nurses standing outside hospitals. Rose petals are used in India traditionally to honor somebody.

Warthogs! Great shot! We had a formation of F-35A Lightning IIs from the 388th Fighter Wing. Didn't get a shot. 😞 Here's one from the web....

Very impressive. A group of f15s did that last week in Massachusetts...covered the cape, surburbs, Boston, central, and the berkshires in about an hour

We had the Blue Angels directly overhead.

Somehow I managed to miss it, dammit.

I started a similar thread on TDPRI, and some of the guys there are grousing about the cost of the flyover. Which is actually part of the pilots' mandated training time, so why not put it to good use honoring someone, especially at this difficult time?

I once had a ride on an E-4B, an airborne command and control plane. Short version is a VIP I was supposed to help brief asked for a tour of the plane. The commander had a training flight scheduled anyway and so the briefing was moved to the aircraft while in flight. The VIP got a tour and then some.

I haven't seen an A-10 in years. I was in the Air Force briefly and always thought I'd love to fly one of those. Having said that, it is a risky proposition. Awesome planes though. Gotta' support the Grunts. :D
