Also take care on the humidity levels. My all-mahogany Martin seemingly changes tone when it's out of its humidity controlled environment for more than a couple of days (i.e. - sitting on a guitar stand).

One other thing to keep in mind, that you may already very well be aware of, is that it’ll never be more temperamental — in terms of changes / shifts — than in the beginning. . . .

If it's anything like my Oxnard m20, it'll open up quite a bit over the first couple of years, although it'll never sound much larger than it's size. What helped for me was swapping to D'addario Nickel Bronze (lights) - I use Elixirs on my other guitars but these things sound so good to my ears on the Hog m20 - maybe give it a shot.

Well said .

I'm late to the party but welcome Jaroboni .
That is a nice guitar love that burst .
The small body guitars I played but don't own all had that smaller boxy sound though some much worse then others . Thing is that sound to me is bit nostalgic and one you have to want to really enjoy the small body guitars but that's just me others might see it differently.

I'm hoping Guild will build a Grand Orchestra but I get the feeling it'll be a long wait . Lol

I see some string suggestions so I'll through these out there.

If you don't want to wait get a ToneRite. You can get a used one on Reverb under $100. I used it on my Guilds that I hadn't played much and they opened up. Each guitar will behave differently.
see for test on cheap Epiphone.
