DEFAULT - there's NEVER too much daylight - once you go far enough north in midsummer, it will change your life forever. The midnight light is very different - hard to describe - sort of never-ending dusk-to-dawn - sun being just below horizon - and even when it is more below - you can feel where it is. After that at august when the nights start to get darker - it feels more mystical thatn it would if the nights were dark year round. Naturally we pay dearly in winter - having 6 hours of daylight or so . . . by X-mas . . . but somehow even that is kind'a nice
