Finding a case to fit Newark Street S-100

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a hard case to fit one of the new Newark Street S-100 Guilds. I am wondering if a generic SG-style case would fit it.

I was concerned the S-100 might be larger, so I tried taking a face-on shot of an SG and an S-100 (from the internet) and digitally scaling them according to their listed scale lengths. It looks like the S-100 is overall a little smaller than the SG. I had a search through the forum history but most of the posts I found were from a long time ago. I did see people saying that some S-100s had a neck angle that made them a poor fit in official SG cases. Do the new S-100s still have a neck angle that could cause problems closing a case?

From the dimensions the S-100 should fit, but that's not considering whether it might be an uncomfortable fit or squeeze the neck joint.

Here's my '73 S-100 fitted inside a '73 SG case. It's a tight fit. I have to kinda slide the guitar in sideways on an angle, then press it down to seat properly. Dunno if I'd want to make this a regular thing.

But other SG cases might have more room, so your best bet is "try before you buy."

Thank you for trying this for me. That's a really beautiful guitar. I love SG-style guitars in "natural" colours like that. Maybe one day I'll have a vintage S-100 of my own.

I am new to the forum and just posted a similar thread before I saw this one.

I can confirm that an S-100 does not fit in a TKL SG case at all because the upper bout is too wide.

I have seen pictures of an S-100 fitting inside a Gator SG ABS case though, and I would imagine it would fit in some rectangular Jaguar/Jazzmaster type cases.

Still searching myself. The Gator is more than I’d like to spend. Any luck?

I am still waiting for my S-100 to show up. It's been "lost" in the Canadian postal system for the last two weeks. If/when it arrives I will try to find a hard case to fit it. By that point I reckon I will be able to bring it to stores to try out the cases they have available.
