One of those guitars I've wanted to try for a long time. Went to look at an X-170 years ago, guy had one of the first M-75s too. And it was the little guitar that impressed me. Found one nearby last year but it wasn't that playable ... tall, blocky frets.

Just traded guitars with another local guy, brought home his sunburst Aristocrat. It appears to have never been played. Not a scratch or blemish I could find. Came in a sharp little bag. Strings feel new. Might be the strings that came on the guitar originally. The neck is straight, just enough relief, but a pretty high action. Got it lowered, just right. Luckily, the frets on this one are fine. It plays very well.

I'd never had the chance to plug one of these in, so it's been a real treat today to try it through various amps. Kinda like two guitars in one. A diminutive jazz guitar with modest volume, on the neck p/u position and with some tone rolled off. A bit more volume and it wakes up, turns into something else. Very cool sounds. Way bigger than one would expect from such a little thing. It was worth the wait!

I had a goldtop up for sale a while back. Things kinda fell through, still have it. Nice guitars, just have too many.

Yeah, it's a more versatile guitar than it might look at first glance. I almost always play it with the vols & tones backed off to varying amounts. With pots up full it's a real scorcher!
