I played the rosewood F47 last week at the local music store. The tone was very nice with lots of complex overtones. It was a good looking guitar too. The binding on the neck gave this intrument a high end feel to it.

What I didn't like was the price. It was over two grand! For that kind of money I'd buy an F50R. I didn't play the guitar for very long because I just couldn't get past the price. Guild has better values out there. The F40, D55 and F50 for example are more bang for the buck, I think.

Its a nice guitar if you can get one at a decent price.

They have one in Maple listed for $1875 at Guitar Adoptions, but I'm sure actual price would be less. Don't see any reason the F47s would cost much more than the F40 or F50.

Hello Jeff,

The seller shows the list price on that one to have been $2499. I know that Hans once told me that generally speaking, Guilds (in the past anyway) sold for roughly 60% of their list price. Was that the case when you bought your CO 1? If so, this seller might have paid around $1500 for this one, does that sound reasonable?

West,

I bought my CO 1 technically used after market for $900. Haven't seen anything close to that price since.

I''d assume F 47's are similar in quality & cost of production to
D 55's & they are asking $2000 & change for D 55's in my local shop. Check my math but that seems about 70% of the list price of $2900.

$1200 for a Tacoma F 47 seems like a good price to me me. Serious seller?? Depends on what if anything is wrong with it. Seems odd it's on the market.
