Here’s a photo after I installed them.

I’ve exposed the surface under the pick guard to my eyeballs for the first time since about 1967. Of course a chance to clean it and apply a bit of protection to the finish.

Reinstalling the pick guard was a bit of a challenge for my old fingers compared to what I can hardly remember the last time when I customized it with a too wide of a stripe….

I was getting tired of feedback in the studio sessions and this was suggested to me when it was noticed that I was shifting positions to try and compensate. Using an old modified Fender Vibrolux Reverb (enjoyable!) supplied by the studio.

I just finished putting them in. Fit nicely, didn’t have to use supplied Emory board to trim the fit. The plug under the pickguard was cut in a good place so that I can remove that plug without removing the pick guard (indicated by a dashed line).

I’m confident it will make a difference and I’ll report back after this Tuesday’s session!

Yes, the plugs worked very nicely in last night’s small studio session!!

Re: George Harrison and that Casino

It’s amazing what you’d likely to do when getting your equipment for free and they’re practically disposable!!

Actually, all three Beatles bought their Casinos. Paul in '64 and John and George in '65. John's Casino was pretty much the only electric guitar he used until the Imagine sessions. There's a clip of him during the Imagine sessions complaining about how hard it is to play - the Beatles rarely disposed of a guitar, even when they probably should have - or at least do an occassional set up! LOL!

I think you know more than I was aware of regarding Beatles history with their guitars!

Thanks for informing us

I just assumed that by then they had more than enough money that they didn’t know what to to with. I remember from one of the documentaries that John was gifted a guitar and George might have resented it. Now I can’t remember which guitar maker gifted it to John (was it in the Peter Jackson resurrection from a few years ago “Get Back”? Was it a Guild 12 string semi hollow?

The converse is that, AFAIK, none of the Beatles ever carried wallets after 1965 or so. It's not like they needed ID. So, if you went out with any of them for the evening, you ended up paying the bill.

The resented guitar was John's Guild Starfire XII.
