Well against my better judgement, I decided to do some of the tedious things that are in my scope of abilities.
Removed pickguard, bridge, tuners, truss rod cover, end pin, and bagged them up. Cleaned up the bottom of the bridge and filled some tear out (not from me) with rosewood dust and superglue and sparingly sanded flat. Removed binding. Touched up some spots on the headstock.
Now I’m stripping the back and sides. Interestingly the back is ply and the sides are solid. Both maple. I think ‘58 was the last year for maple back and sides.
I’m hoping that Steve will appreciate some of the little time consuming things (mainly the stripping and bridge removal) being done.
