I'm happy to bring these guitars into the fold here. Even though I don't intend to keep them, it was such a thrill to bring them home. As posted in another thread, my friends who own a pawn shop bought two Guild acoustics in Southern California at a movie/TV production studio auction. A story is just that, but they said these guitars were bought for a production, used on set, and put into storage since new. Whether you believe this origin, the condition speaks for itself - like new old stock.
They say if you bring a stray pet home, don't give it a name or you might keep it. Dangit, I've named both of these guitars. But, it is for sale. More photos eventually in a FS/FT post.
When I brought this up to tune, I could tell the strings are old. It plays like a low action electric - maybe too low for some. Such a beautiful neck and fretboard, I tiptoed my hands on it. Just two notes at a time, listening to the high harmonic overtones ping around the maple inside. Finding a chord to strum and listen turned out to be A major 7th. It lit the whole body with vibration and the wood had life again. It is so pretty! Seems robust but delicate. Charming, tone, and a ton of flair, meet...Liberace!
