Elliptical end pins should come standard on guitars. I've been using these a long time. A guitar strap just can't jump off of these. At first, I used to use the Dunlop disc-style strap locks. But I find these more convenient.

The mid-80s Guild ones would break. Took mine off, put 'em in the case pocket and installed Schallers

They look a bit different I think. Good to know the old Nightbird strap buttons break when getting old.

I've had a couple of Nightbirds with broken strap pegs and used the Stew Mac ones to replace them. If I were to gig with one it would get strap locks.
