Bluesette Sacha show Sacha Distel, apart from being the mellow French-lover-crooner of the 1960es,was a good jazz player; Jacobacci guitars has a "Sacha Distel" jazz-box.He hosted a popular TV show. Here are Distel, the great Elek Bacsik, Baden Powell , and a young Boulou Ferré playing Toots Thielemans' Bluesette, back in 1964. Bacsic plays a big Guild, probably a X-550, but do I see a Charlie Christian-type pick-up on it,or what? Check other videos of Bacsic, jamming with Serge Gainsbourg or supporting Jeanne Moreau, and a wonderful vid where he plays all instruments. Any info on his later career &life in the USA is welcome! Thanks for watching!Enjoy!

Post WWII , here in the Land Of 1000 Cheeses, there was a fascinating conjuction of accordion-based popular music (aka"Musette") with swingy-songs à la Charles Trenet, Django of course, gypsy-jazz, a kind of a french jazzy melting-pot that maybe culminated with"Elevator to the Gallows"and survives today in sometimes pseudo-gypsy-guitar fade..The musicianship displayed on under-rated popular songs of that era often goes under the radar. It seems incredible to me that Django or Bacsic played behind cheesy crooners, kind of like,ah "Here's Petula Clark and , oh , by the way, she's backed by Jimi Hendrix on the guitar!" Musicians have to eat, it's no romantic thing,it is a job,you play tastefully any silly love-song. Anyway, accordion was the Stratocaster of that era .Here is Gus Viseur playing his ass off!Enjoy!(What am I talking about? What a boring pedantic ass-hole I am! Can't even play a clean Blues-scale myself! Shut up and play yer guitar, like the man said! Sorry I got carried away,I promise I'll slow down on red wine!) Gus Viseur-Swing valse
