The folks at OSHA would appreciate that I run this photo now and then to promote string safety.

You could do some serious damage with those things!

Clip 'em at the post!

Turn it upside down and spin the neck really quick between your two hands (like your trying to start a fire with a twig and a flint rock) and you've got one sweet WEED EATER! Just make sure the lower bout doesn't smack you in the head!

And here I thought this post was about me. :(

When I was a wee lad of 13, taking guitar lessons for the first time, my teacher would literally yell at me if I left my strings uncut. "You'll lose an eye!". To this day, I can't leave 'em more than 1/2" from the post.

Sounds like a good teacher, passing on a bonus lesson like that.

Not really. He also taught me that capos were "cheaters" and should never be used. It took me 30 years to get over that one.
