Edited Thread Just bought a 2001 X500T. Would a case for a new Newark X175 fit it?

Hi Guild lovers. Just bought my first Guild!
1998 Westerly made X500T. It needs a case as the case it came with s thrashed and missing the handle. Would a new X175B Newark case work ? Or what would you suggest
Thanks

Welcome to LTG and congrats on your X-500T! They are very cool guitars!
I just tried putting my X-500T in the case for my Newark Street X-175. It fits fine for length and width, but not depth. The X-500 is 3/8 inch deeper than the NS X-175 and the lid will not close without forcing it. There would be too much pressure applied by the padding in the lid to the bridge and Bigsby of the X-500. Bottom line, it's not a good fit. Sorry.

thanks again for that. I was about to buy one of those cases. I’m going to have to wait until a used X500-X700 case comes up for sale or try to get a new handle put on this thrashed case.

Welcome. In Ye Olden Days folks that did shoe repairs also did luggage repairs. They are hard to find now but if you find one they should be able to rehabilitate the case.

Thanks. Yes. Here in Los Angeles. I’ve gone to get quotes for other cases. They wanted as much as new case would cost almost.
but I will go to the poor side of town and see if I can find someone that can fix it up for under $100

That's nice in Tennessee Orange. Mine is natural.

She is a beauty!!. My buddy who was the original owner would have chosen yours if it was in the store. There was a blonde one in the store but it didn’t have the bigsby and felt it was neck heavy. He never used the bigsby but liked the weight balance better. Says it felt more like his Gibson L5.

Nice guitar! I can only echo what others said already : NS case is not deep enough for anything other than a 56-61 x500 or x175, or indeed the NS guitars.
