yeah rip currents are brutal, never swim against them, best just to let them take you out a bit, mosey off to the side of it, then swim the long way in.

Lake Michigan can be brutal at times, it claims lots of lives every year, most from people getting caught in the rip currents; we used to call that the "undertow" because it sucks you out into the lake.

That song haunts me, FNG. I had just returned to Michigan from the Navy a week before The Edmund Fitzgerald sank.

The last place I would ever want to visit is "Lake Superior's ice water mansions."
