My dad had a private pilot license. Very exciting that your grandkid is piloting! How was the ice cream flight?

Never heard. You know how rude youngsters are, plus I'm not on Tik Tok and Instagram, otherwise I'd known they didn't crash. As of last night when I came home, I still don't know, even right now but I'm sure it was fine.

That's her walking out to the plane with headset, Top Gun style, unreal.

I think he had the '74 Mustang Ghia's front end in mind:

Funny, the Aston looked so much like the Ghia that I always assumed it was a Ghia design, only found out about Towns when I checked the Wiki page. But I think he borrowed from the more classic Mustang rear-end, even though the quarter panel and fender resemble the Mustang Ghia from that front quarter view.

I always associate William Towns with very angular designs, such as the Aston Martin Lagonda and the Hustler

Getting to something from much earlier, it seems Mr. Wrong doth malign something dear to me, the incredibly bulbous butt of a 928 ;[] I was in in love with this car, but knew better. My best pal had one, best of both worlds, seeing it, driving it even, a 5sp, and watching him deal with the mechanical nightmares, oh but that sound of a V8 at full tilt, intoxicating.

Anyone ever seen this footage before? Featuring the fabulous late Bon Scott, Ronald Belford, drummer Phil Rudd driving, bass player piloting. The best rhythm section in rock in that day, maybe to this day.

I was crushed when he died, never cared for AC/DC after that.

What? Not on Tik Tok or Instagram?!! (Me neither!)

I hope the flight went well. Is that the instructor with her? Has she soloed yet?

Flying, but not solo, Hans Solo?

She's a whiz on simulators, at or near the top and another grankid same in math for this whole state, something that bypassed me somehow.

OK ... because this is dream cars and not practical, utilitarian, useful cars, I will post these CL links -- both for white 1959 Jaguar XK150s, one rag-top, one hard top, the two with very different histories.

I have owned a number of 3.8 MKIIs and MKVIIs, lovely and notoriously unreliable cars. I always wanted one of the XK series, but one never came my way when they were just cheap old cars that nobody wanted. And even though I know the pain of ownership of these monsters, I masochistically still want one, although not at a cost of $100K or so.

Iteresting to note that in John Thaw's previous police drama series, The Sweeney, the villains regularly drove Jaguars and seemed to crash them on a regular basis! 😁 Thaw's character, Det. Inspector Regan drove a Ford Granada (actually a Consul GT, as many of the cars were not badged as Granadas before 1975 due to a legal dispute).

In my opinion, one of the best looking cars that Ford made in Europe:cool:
