I just love that old truck

A truck will pass as a dream car. I quit lusting over cars long ago, and moved on to trucks, because they do more stuff.

I traded my Roadrunner for a Loadrunner.

In a world where lowered expectations help, a SAAB 900 8 valve non turbo was my dream car for a long time, before I had to go Subaru.

lowered expectations... how about my daily driver! 8v, non-turbo, automatic 1992 240 Wagon. My folks had few Saabs from 79 for a decade and a half, at least half a dozen 900 (mix of 8v, 16v, Turbo... and one SPG), a 99 Turbo, and at least one 9000. I've owned Volvos instead.

They don't call Volvo wagons "bricks", for nothing . . . very nice (and durable) cars.

I used to know someone whose immediate family members: 1) all drove Volvo wagons, and 2) all owned golden retrievers.

And then there's "Bulbous":

Like the unfortunate consequence of a misguided amorous encounter between an E-type coupe and a Pacer.

Man I wanted that year El Camino bad, but knew better, because you could buy one with a blowed engine real easy, and I couldn't afford constant car repairs.

Greg's examples are 1959. The El Camino pictured is a squared off version for 1960. In 1961 is when GM downsized their full sized cars and gave them a dramatic new streamlined look.
