The Fast and the Furious was filmed in 1954, so the Jaguars used in it are XK120s. IMDB says the car used by heroine and her bad-boy carjacker is a 53 model. It appears to be a racing model with only a small windshield/screen on the driver's side to reduce drag.

The Jaguar Forums (yes, there are forums for everything) link below has an embedded link to commercial-free version of the movie. The movie is moderately recommended--very low budget B movie. Lots of footage of vintage sports cars in action.

Interesting to note the Lotus badge on the side  Some of the most desirable Cortinas were those built with Lotus engines (a twin overhead cam development of a ford engine). The Lotus Cortina had a lot of success in rally racing.
Lotus Cortinas were super cool. My mom had a regular GT, a lot like this one, minus the minilites. She used to let me shift the gears from the passenger seat when I was a kid. Cool car.

I currently have my affordable dream car.

My family has a long history with interesting cars, I wish I had all the scans but I only have this one pic to share. Circa mid 60s Southern California, my mom and grandma.

The Morse car was a 1960 smaller block 3.4 litre model.

I owned a black 1960 3.8 MKII--no wire wheels. It had been owned in Germany by a mechanic with the RCAF, and it had been pimped, either by him or at the factory as a custom order. It had an intake manifold that was more like that of an E or D Type racing model in that it had three SU carbs rather than the stock two. The pistons were larger and higher compression than stock so the displacement was probably larger than the stock 3.8 litres. The stock model came with Lockheed aircraft disk brakes in front and standard drums in the rear. Mine had disks on all four wheels. It had a four speed standard transmission with an electric overdrive/two-speed-differential.

Jaguars were never that fast off the line or in the quarter mile. American small-block and big-block V8 cars would eat them alive here. But once at highway speed, my Jag said "Goodbye. Enjoy my dust." to pretty much everything else on the road, sprinting effortlessly and elegantly away.

I had a hand in the restro of this 1963 Tempest... I worked web & office work for Bob Russo, where he mentions sourcing parts in AZ, that was me :) I also tracked down visually correct carb screens and some incorrect interior parts.

You ever deal w/ a guy in Accokeek Md that owns East Coast Goat? He's an old friend of mine. He deals mainly w/ GTO's but so many other Pontiacs had crossover parts, namely the Tempest. He specializes in hard to find original parts for resto jobs.

The Jaguar Mk VIIs were lovely cars, too. Nice for long distance driving, huge twin fuel tanks. Built more for comfort than for speed. The poor man's Rolls.

The 1957 one below (taken from an image search) is very similar to the best of the ones I owned. But it is in much nicer condition than mine was.

There were so many! I know some stuff came from MD, if not for the Tempest, Bob is a GTO guy and has a couple of mid 60s show stoppers... bad photo, but this one is his pride & joy

I had a '66 Star Chief 4dr, 389, awesome highway cruiser, then a '66 or '67 Tempest 2dr with 326 4bbl and headers, tire frier.

One day on my lunch, I want to look a '68 or '69 Goat in a friend of a friends back yard.

Green on Green, 400/4sp, missing radiator and front door panels $200, otherwise super clean running car. I passed.

Do you regret passing?

Not yet, I'm still here.

I almost passed in the Star Chief, falling asleep at the wheel after a crazy night out, got honked back into my lane by an oncoming semi on a two lane road. So passing on a GTO meant staying alive, and not getting tickets. You can go just as fast in a quiet Star Chief in a tan, brown or gold color and get away with it.

Buckle in! Amazing footage, no off topic comments please.

You'll notice GM is not even a contender, a well guarded secret.
