Chevrolet V8 firing order - oddly, if you number a Ford V8 the same as a Chevy, the firing order is the same ...

Also the Chrysler firing order, these are numbers you should never forget.

Not sure what you mean by "numbering a Ford V8 the same as a Chevy" but Ford V8's have never had the same firing orders as Chevy/Dodge.

At automotive school, with most students being 18 year old boys, the teachers would tell the students to remember the firing orders to "straight sixes" and "four bangers" like this; 6 cylinder "Too young, just right, too old", 4 cylinder; "Too young, too old" ;[]

If you take an illustration of a Ford V8 and number the cylinders the same as a Chevy the firing order is the same (assuming both start with #1). Their only difference is in the numbering of the cylinders. I can't say it any more plain than that.

Chevy - 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2
Ford - 5 4 2 6 3 7 8 1

The crankshafts both have the same throws at the same degrees, it's just that the Chevy #1 is LF and the left bank is 1,3,5,7 and the right banks is 2,4,6,8 front to back.

I found some new photos of old Uncle Jules and his team's Peugeot. From an article when the car changed hands in 2017 for 6 million Euros

This group of guys split off from the main Peugeot racing team and created a revolutionary engine. The first Dual overhead cam inline 4. Basically the only engine design from the early teens still in wide use today. They created lots of firsts including the first European car to win at Indy, and by the highest margin. Their win by over 13 minutes will be the record forever.

The article with a lot of interesting technical and historical info:

I'm sticking with the above, any year as long as it's Eddie Bauer, and red is a preference. When they repainted they even did the pinstripes, gotta have the pinstripes.

Most unfortunately it's out of my "I'm retired now" budget, but my goodness I would look quite fetching piloting that lovely rig. 😁 Well, anyone would, really.
My FIL had one of those in plain white. Didn't keep it all that long. A bit later they got a loaded Highlander which they still have over 15 years later.

My kid's mechanic's toy. Sadly, he sold the shop, had to because he's sick with something terminal.

I guess he has "life".

From my kid's car window in the shop parking lot this morning. Grandkid said "Wow, a Monster Truck!" and then instantly "I wanna drive it" lol, she's only 6, but has her own mini Jeep she terrorizes the back yard with.

Cynthia, feel free to make an offer on it, lol, it looks Florida ready to me ;[]

PS I love his windshield banner, I'm guessing he's married.

Getting the summer tires back on the Miata today!
Woo hoo and enjoy!

I have a friend who lived in Connecticut for a while as a kid. (His dad worked for the federal prison system and they moved around a lot.) He absolutely loved it, but did say the winter was very cold and snowy. I'd bet Connecticut summers are more enjoyable than Florida summers.
