After decades of using D'Addario PBs on virtually all my non-classical guitars, I recently strung my Pawless with a set of these, and really like the way they feel and sound. Just curious how many have changed to, or have tried, round wound strings, and if so, which other brands should I consider.

I first tried Sunbeams after they were recommended here on LTG some years ago. Nice occasional change from my fall-back strings, D'Addario EJ17s tuned way down.

I also enjoy switching to silver-plated silk-and-steels now and then for a different sound. Some guitars respond to them better than others.

Sometimes you can achieve a more dramatic sonic change by altering the strings on your guitar than you can by switching to a different guitar.

Fun to experiment!

I've been toying with the idea of silk and steel for a while, not sure which guitar I'd put them on. Back in the dark ages ('60s) I used them occasionally on my 12 string, seemed nice for finger picking.

I use DR Dragon Skin Mediums on my GAD-50. They seem to last a long time.
